I am Richard Burton, a watercolour artist based at The Richard Burton Art Centre on the stunning Yorkshire coast, near the dramatic Bempton Cliffs. My work is inspired by the natural beauty around me, and I love to use the power of colour to create atmosphere in my paintings.

This vibrant watercolour captures the Flying Scotsman passing the New Bridge signal box on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, surrounded by soft light and rich seasonal colour. The detailed locomotive contrasts beautifully with the misty woodland background. A lively tribute to the charm and nostalgia of Britain’s heritage railways.

The landscape so impressively depicted in the video is truly breathtakingly beautiful. The watercolor painting is just as breathtaking. It was very challenging to paint the reflections on the water's surface, but they certainly succeeded here. THANK YOU for this wonderful video.

Another great picture, if I ever get back to the East coast I will try to drop in. So thank you for this how about something from inland Forge Valley is fab at this time of year.

The way you use watercolours really encapsulates the medium - they are beautiful. You live in an area where around every corner is another potential painting view. I used to live in Leeds and fondly remember Mam and Dad taking us to Primrose Valley and Filey and Scarborough

Thanks!
